내용 : 이길이구 갤러리는 2024년 8월 7일부터 24일까지 헤르시의 개인전 《태양의 정원》을 개최한다. 헤르시(본명 엄익준, 1991년생)의 예명은 ‘He realized nothing concrete’라는 문장의 약어로, ‘고정된 틀에 얽매이지 않는다’는 의미를 함축하고 있다. 어린 시절부터 손으로 만드는 창작 활동에 깊은 관심을 보인 그는, 글쓰기, 그림 그리기, 도자기 제작, 음악 활동, 악기 연주, 요리 등 다양한 분야에서 탁월한 예술적 감각을 드러냈다. 이러한 다채로운 경험들은 현재에도 그의 예명을 완성해 나가는 동력이 되고 있다. 그는 자유롭고 창의적인 표현을 지향하는 작업을 통해, 스스로의 호기심과 순수함을 작품에 담아내는 젊은 세대의 대표적인 예술가로 평가받고 있다. 그의 작업 행보는 다양한 도구와 매체를 활용하여 작품을 창작하는데, 화면은 자유로운 접근을 통해 독창적인 예술 세계를 보여준다. 이번 전시의 주요 모티브는 지중해의 강렬한 태양에서 비롯된 색감과 자연이 빚어낸 아름다운 풍경에서 영감을 받았다. 또한 스페인의 소브라메사 문화, 친구들과 함께 나누는 와인이 있는 따뜻한 순간들, 그리고 여행을 통해 얻은 다채로운 경험들이 여름의 색감과 이야기를 담아내며 화면을 구성한다. 헤르시는 낯선 곳에서 바라본 자연과 문화, 그리고 작가 개인의 기억을 통합하여 풍부한 예술적 경험을 작품에 녹여냈다. 이번 전시는 태양의 긍정적인 에너지와 자연만이 줄 수 있는 신비로움이 이 계절과 조화를 이루며 전시장을 사회적 교류의 중요한 장으로 만들 것이다. 이번 이길이구 갤러리에서의 전시가 다양한 주제에 대해 서로 이야기를 나눌 수 있는 유대의 무대를 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

2GIL29 GALLERY will host HERNC‘s solo exhibition, ”Jardin of Solar,“ from August 7 to 24, 2024. HERNC, whose real name is Ikjun Um (Born in 1991), derived his pseudonym from the phrase ”He realized nothing concrete,“ encapsulating the idea of not being bound by fixed conventions. From a young age, he has shown a deep interest in creative activities, excelling in writing, drawing, pottery, music, instrument playing, and cooking. These diverse experiences have continuously fueled the evolution of his artistic identity. HERNC is recognized as a leading artist of the younger generation, aiming for free and creative expression in his work, embodying curiosity and innocence. His artistic journey involves the use of various tools and media to create his works, revealing an original artistic world through a liberating approach. The main motif of this exhibition is inspired by the vibrant colors and beautiful landscapes shaped by the intense Mediterranean sun. It also draws on the Spanish culture of sobremesa, warm moments shared over wine with friends, and the diverse experiences gained through travel, all of which come together to depict the colors and stories of summer on his canvases. HERNC integrates the nature he observed in unfamiliar places, various cultures, and his personal memories to create rich artistic experiences. This exhibition aims to convey the positive energy of the sun and the unique mysteries that only nature can offer, harmonizing with the season and transforming the gallery into a significant venue for social interaction. The exhibition at 2GIL29 GALLERY is expected to provide a stage for exchanging ideas on various themes and fostering connections among visitors.
