해방촌 일대 6개 공간에서 순회형 기획전 《실크로드》가 열린다. 업스탠딩 커피, 힐스앤유로파, 미사랑 와인바, 포스트 갤러리, 세몰리나 클럽, 그린그라피제이 등 각 공간은 이번 전시를 위해 참여 작가와 협업하며, 서로 다른 문화와 감각이 만나는 장을 만든다.
기획자이자 작가인 헤르시(HERNC)는 ‘He realized nothing concrete’라는 문장에서 예명을 가져왔다. 이는 고정된 틀에 얽매이지 않고, 글쓰기·회화·도자·가구 등 다양한 매체를 넘나드는 그의 창작 태도를 반영한다.
《실크로드》는 고대 교역로가 다양한 문화와 언어, 이야기를 연결했던 것처럼, 해방촌의 골목과 공간을 따라 이동하며 서로 다른 예술 경험을 이어간다. 각 장소는 고유한 개성과 역사, 그리고 작가의 시선이 만나 하나의 ‘여행 경로’를 형성한다.
전시는 회화, 설치, 오브제 등 매체를 가리지 않고, 로컬 커뮤니티와의 대화를 통해 완성된다. 관람객은 한 공간에서 다른 공간으로 이동하며, 이국적인 분위기와 서로 다른 문화의 결을 발견하게 된다.
이번 프로젝트는 해방촌이라는 지역 안에서 예술을 매개로 한 현대판 실크로드를 구현하며, 다양한 문화와 대화가 만나는 경험을 관람객에게 제안한다.

A traveling exhibition, Silk Road, unfolds across six venues in Haebangchon. Ups Standing Coffee, Hills & Europa, Misarang Wine Bar, Post Gallery, Semolina Club, and Greengraphy J each collaborate with participating artists, creating spaces where diverse cultures and sensibilities intersect.
The curator and artist, HERNC, derives his name from the phrase “He realized nothing concrete.” It reflects his refusal to be confined by fixed forms, and his practice spans a wide range of mediums including writing, painting, ceramics, and furniture.
Like the ancient trade route that connected cultures, languages, and stories, Silk Road guides visitors through the streets and venues of Haebangchon, weaving together distinct artistic experiences. Each location combines its unique character and history with the artist’s perspective to form a singular “travel route.”
The exhibition embraces multiple mediums—from painting and installation to object design—brought to life through dialogue with the local community. As visitors move from one venue to another, they encounter an exotic atmosphere and discover the textures of different cultures.
This project reimagines a modern-day Silk Road within Haebangchon, offering audiences an experience where diverse cultures meet through art and conversation.
